A young Indian maiden born ![]() Soon her very happiness would turn to sadness. Her young heart would break for a forbidden love's sake. Into her life one day, he came their love knowing no shame, but it was her white uncle's son whose heart she had won. ![]() Her valiant heart bled as tears her eyes shed for the love of this man not born on Indian land. Neither accepting defeat, they continued to meet. ![]() But one fateful night by the sky's starry light past the mountains, at the end of the trail the young man's horse stumbled and fell. Throwing the young man into the river so deep struggling, but his life he could not keep. Standing in the moonlight in wait the Indian maiden soon knew his fate. ![]() Now she cries in the wind her tears a message send to her own true love who is with the Great Spirit above. The Indian woman now rides alone each day and to the Great Spirit her soul prays that soon they will be together as their love lives forever.
